The structure, beauty, and vastness of an infinitely complex ordered universe, incontestably proclaims an awesome designer of infinite wisdom and power.
The great "praise" book of the Bible, in simplicity and reverence proclaims:
Further in the same Old Testament book, the psalmist in absolute awe describes a great fundamental truth:
Modern scientists study the heavens with increasingly powerful telescopes, revealing not only thousands of stars, (as man's wisdom once thought), but tens of thousands of galaxies composed of hundreds of thousands of individual stars. Not only does the omnipotent creator know the exact number, but he knows them by name:
The New Testament clearly reveals that the Lord Jesus Christ is the creator who created all things whether they are visible or not and by His power all things are held together:
The majesty of God is not only seen in creation, but it is displayed even more in the awesome "gift of life." By no ones merit, effort, or work of any kind, "life" is given. The Apostle Paul, when defending the "Unknown God" at Mars Hill, presented to his opponents that they could know the very one that gave them life:
Some see God's glory displayed but feel that He is "far off" and unconcerned about his creation. The scriptures reveal that the opposite is true:
Unfortunately, in the beginning of God's perfect creation, man rebelled against the giver of life and chose to disobey his Lord. This terrible sin nature was passed on to all human kind. But the "awesome God" does not abandon us to our well deserved fate of physical and spiritual death but offers the solution as a "gift." A perfect substitute is sacrificed, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Prophet Isaiah prophesied about Jesus and His suffering for us:
Only an incredible, loving, "Awesome God" would love us while we were yet sinners. Yet this is exactly what Paul in his book to the Romans says:
Just a few verses earlier, the Apostle Paul reveals that this "awesome God" will "justify" us, (declare us righteous) by faith in which we have "peace" with God:
Can you imagine, an "Awesome God" who loves us so much, that he willingly was beaten, mocked and nailed to a cruel cross. Suffered and bled for our personal sins. Died and rose again to draw us to Himself...DEPT PAID. Can we fathom such love? Believers also have the promise that this "Awesome God" will never leave us and will always help us:
An finally, not only can we have peace with God, our sins forgiven, and an intimate relationship with the creator, but this "awesome God" gives us "eternal life":
Jesus promised:
Truly, truly, He is "An Awesome God!" For questions or comments you can contact us by e-mail at challenge.min@cox.net or write:
